Heritage NSW disaster recovery response

The recent disasters have impacted on our Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, Built Heritage, Archaeology and the natural environment.

Heritage NSW with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee (ACHAC) and the Heritage Council of NSW is continuing to:

  • Support communities to rapidly adapt to the post-disaster environment
  • Help recovery workers build local capacity within a community
  • Strengthen the focus on building disaster resilient communities
  • Provide recovery workers with resources and tools to assist in assessing and planning any recovery activities relating to our heritage.

If you are an owner of a State Heritage Register (SHR) listed place affected by the fires, please contact us for support on 02 9873 8500 or via our mailbox: HERITAGEmailbox@environment.nsw.gov.au.

Similarly, if you are aware of any impacts to any of our heritage places contact the above number.

Your local council is the primary point of call for locally significant heritage places managed under Local Environmental Plans (LEPs), but please contact us if you need support in obtaining local contacts or general heritage advice.
