Transfer, vary or surrender an AHIP

Apply to transfer an AHIP

To transfer an AHIP to another person you will need to:

  1. complete the AHIP transfer application form
  2. prepare any supporting information
  3. pay the fee (payment details are on the last page of the application form)
  4. email your completed application form and supporting information to Heritage NSW

Apply to vary an AHIP

A variation includes the substitution, omission or amendment of an existing condition, or attaching a new condition, to an AHIP. Depending on the nature and breadth of the variation, consultation may be required.

To vary an AHIP you will need to:

  1. conduct an Aboriginal community consultation process if your variation will result in a significant increase in harm
  2. complete the AHIP variation application form 
  3. prepare any supporting information
  4. pay the fee (payment details are on the last page of the application form)
  5. email your completed application form and supporting information to Heritage NSW

Apply to surrender an AHIP

An AHIP can be surrendered by the AHIP holder. Fees are not refunded when an AHIP is surrendered.

To surrender an AHIP you will need to:

  1. complete the AHIP surrender application form
  2. preparing any supporting information
  3. pay the fee (payment details are on the last page of the application form)
  4. email your completed application form and supporting information to Heritage NSW
