Flesh & Blood; A Sydney Story 1788-1988
Superb art works and objects tell stories of powerful colonial families and Aboriginal dispossession. Well-known arts identity, Ace Bourke tells the story of Sydney then and now. This fascinating interpretation includes the first Australian display of Bungaree's Club, an eclectic combination of art works, the intrigue of Sydney's colonial history and the genealogy of one man's family.

Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum

Fantastic Creatures: creative art workshops for children at the Norman Lindsay Gallery
Children 6 to 11 will have the opportunity to work with artist Aloisia Fenyes to produce a variety of artwork inspired by the fantastic forms within the Norman Lindsay Garden, nature and their imagination. Cost: $10 per session.

Unexpected Views; Images of Early Sydney from the Beat Knoblauch Collection
On the eve of the millennium, Unexpected Views provides the people of Sydney with a rare glimpse of where their city has come from, and an invitation to reflect on where it is headed. Rare and unexpected vistas of Sydney, made between 1788 and 1888, document the founding and growth of the settlement's architecture, industry and society.

Green Bans Revisited; Success at What Cost?
When the BLF placed its Green Ban on The Rocks it was the first time a ban had involved a working class, inner city neighbourhood and was in direct conflict with the NSW State Government. This forum explores The Rocks after the Green Bans; who and what survived, and at what cost? Following the forum will be an opportunity to view the new exhibition Protest! Environmental Activism in NSW 1968-1998 which charts the growth and social impact of the protest movement. Cost: $25, bookings essential.

Beyond Architecture: Marion Mahony and Walter Burley Griffin
This exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum examines the lives and careers of Marion Mahony and Walter Burley Griffin. The exhibition follows the Griffins in the United States, Australia and India, from their experiences with Frank Lloyd Wright at the turn of the century to the implementation of their plans for the design of the city of Canberra.
