APRIL 1998
Welcome to the first issue of our expanded newsletter. We have doubled the size of the publication and broadened its scope of subject matter to reflect the breadth of Heritage Council and Heritage Office activities.
Now you can stay in touch with all the latest developments in heritage issues, get simple explanations of technical and legal matters affecting heritage and find out what's happening in heritage in your local area.
We welcome feedback on the new-look newsletter and would also like to hear from you on what aspects of heritage you're concerned about and what topics you'd like to see explored by Heritage NSW in the future. Letters to the Editor should be addressed to Heritage NSW, NSW Heritage Office, Locked Bag 5020, Parramatta, NSW 2124 or emailed to heritageoffice@heritage.nsw.gov.au
Please include your name and address in correspondence together with a daytime telephone number. Where possible Letters to the Editor will be printed in their entirety but we reserve the right to edit for reasons of space.
Cover: During Heritage Week, the NSW Heritage Office is releasing a series of cards showing examples of movable heritage. This teapot, made in Kiangsi, China, belonged to the Fong family of Tingha in NSW who owned the Sam Kee and Company General Store. It now belongs to the Tingha History Centre.
