Sydney Water's event is a 10 km surface walk along the top of Bondi Sewer in two stages - from Hyde Park to Bellevue Hill on Sunday 26 April and from Bellevue Hill to Bondi on Sunday 3 May. Contact (02) 9334 0238 for more information.

The Department of Health is touring an exhibition of historical items which grew from the Centenary of the Public Health Act in 1996. During Heritage Week the exhibition will be at Orange Base Hospital.

We know we have arrived in Sydney when we see the Harbour Bridge. For such a special heritage item, conservation planning is crucial. The Roads & Traffic Authority will launch the Sydney Harbour Bridge Conservation Plan du ring Heritage Week. Copies of the plan are $20 and will be available from the RTA, ground floor, 260 Elizabeth Street, Sydney.

In the Rocks the Sydney Cove Authority will be conducting guided tours of the Cumberland Street archaeological site in cooperation with the Historic Houses Trust. Characters dressed in period costume will also mingle with the crowds during the Faces of the Rocks festival on Sunday 26 April between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. At the Rocks Visitors Centre changes to Sydney's oldest suburb over the last 97 years are the subject of a photographic exhibition during Heritage Week.
