Management Plan for Protecting the World and National Heritage Values of the Sydney Opera House

The New South Wales Government, in accordance with section 46 of the Australian Government Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, hereby gives notice that it is exhibiting a Management Plan for the purposes of making a bilateral agreement between the Australian Government and the State of New South Wales to protect the National and possible World Heritage values of the Sydney Opera House.

The Management Plan sets out the environmental impact assessment and approval requirements and management arrangements that operate to protect its National and possible World Heritage values. The Sydney Opera House has been included on the National Heritage List and a nomination will be prepared for inscription on the World Heritage List.

The Sydney Opera House: A Plan for the Conservation of the Sydney Opera House and its Site (3rd edition 2003) and the Utzon Design Principles (2002) are an integral part of the Management Plan.
