| Description |
| Physical Description: |
Inter-War Free Classical: a two-storey brick building with a hipped, tiled roof, and a lower flat roof over the north west corner. The New South Head Road (western) façade is divided into three bays, with two engine bays on the southern end of the façade and a single sash window with frosted glass on the northern end. A deep rendered lintel over the engine bay openings extends around the building, interrupted only by the projecting brick quoins on all corners of the building. The quoins have every fifth course of brickwork recessed. The first floor has a pair of two pane sash windows over each engine bay, and a wide multipane window on the northern end. This window is possibly enclosing an original open verandah. The window sills and lintels are brick. Under the boxed eaves, a moulding detail, is placed approximately every sixty centimetres. Art Deco detailing is evident on the guttering. There are semi-circular windows on the southern elevation. The northern elevation steps out to follow the splayed boundary. There is also a brick and timber fence that runs along this boundary giving a domestic appearance to the building (McMonnies 1988). |
