| Physical Description: |
Large Mid-Victorian stone mansion. Simple Gothic styling with gabled front projection. Verandah beside returns to eastern elevation. Extension to the rear, also in stone. Original roof replaced by terra cotta tiles. Good stone chimneys. Decorative barge boards to gable are of special note. Flat cast iron columns to double verandah, partly replaced on ground floor. Largely hidden by tree and other planting. Openings are relatively small. Timber framed, double hung windows, with french doors to verandahs. Original gates to Paul Street with more recent stone wall. Large grounds, now with many additional buildings. Some more recent work compromises the historic setting and curtilage. |
