| Physical Description: |
White painted building in Ecclesiastical Gothic style. Ashlar coursed render. Parapet gabled front with castellated bell tower to one side. Decorative feature entry in front with castellated walls on each side. Limited stucco work is quite attractive. Outstanding feature is bell tower lantern. High stone wall on front boundary. Unsympathetic brick additions on each side. |

| Historical Notes: |
The Sisters of the Poor Clares order arrived in Australia from Ireland in 1883. In 1885 the present site was acquired for a convent. The Chapel was built in 1917 and is one of the few early buildings on the site to survive relatively intact. Known as the Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels. Architect was J O'Sullivan. Would have been face brick originally. Added to since. (Dowd, p. 208-9). |
