Statement of Significance

Local landmark, long a part of the Bondi Beach townscape. Architectural integrity lost but continues to make an important streetscape contribution. Good example of the Commercial Palazzo style. Local significance.

Description
Construction Years: 1915 - 1945
Physical Description: Impressive six storey residential building with ground floor shopfronts. 1920's style former hotel. Arched windows to fifth floor with large bracketed cornice above. Remainder of above awning façade characterised by repetition of rectangular window openings. Sixth floor appears to be later addition but features a central parapet motif above. Façade has been altered resulting in loss of original texture and detail. Ground floor substantially altered.

Historical Notes: Built c. 1926 on the site of the former Cliff House Hotel. Originally known as the "Hotel International". (Source: Dowd, pp. 282-283).
