Statement of Significance

Excellent example of a Federation bungalow, anticipating the standard Bungalow form of the 1920's. Displays other interesting features, especially windows and timberwork. Essentially intact and well maintained. One of the best surviving examples in Waverley (see also No. 80 Alt Street and No. 192 Denison Street). Local significance.

Description
Construction Years: 1890 - 1915
Physical Description: Good late Federation transitional style. Double gables, all shingled with timber brackets below. All slate roof, including hipped roof to verandah/porch. Tuckpointed face brick. Good timber decoration to verandah, including exposed rafter eaves. Full length, also of note with its three narrow sash windows with skylights over. Fence replaced but reasonably sympathetic.

Current Use: Dwelling house.
Former Use: Dwelling house.

History
Historical Notes: First appears in Sands Directory in 1912. Occupied by George McMah and known as "Rutherglen".
