
NSW Heritage Database Software
The heritage database software has been designed as a user-friendly tool for preparing heritage studies and managing the information obtained through this process.
This software is available free of charge to NSW government agencies, local government and heritage professionals conducting heritage studies and compiling S.170 Registers.
Licencing
Before downloading and using the software please read the Licence Agreement
You may download and copy the software and manuals for a non-profit purpose, provided you copy all of it, and you do not make any changes or additions. The documentation may be quoted with appropriate attribution to the Heritage Branch.
The required system for the software is an IBM compatible PC with Pentium processor, 64mb RAM and a Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP or NT system.

Training
The Heritage Branch provides half-day training sessions which includes an overview of the database, searching and navigation techniques, data-entry and installation of software. Training held at the Heritage Branch, Parramatta is free. On-site training can be provided by arrangement.

Before using this software for a heritage study, please contact the Heritage Branch to have a serial number imbedded in your copy of the database. To download for evaluation purposes, right-click on the links below, then select 'Save Target As' to save the files to your PC or network drive.
The first component of the software is the 'front-end'which contains all the programming and 'look-up' tables. The file "shiuser3.zip" must be 'unzipped' before use.
Version 3 is available for MS Access 97,
MS Access 2000/2003, or
MS Access 2007(Beta Version).
The second component is the 'back-end' which contains all the data tables. The file "shidata3.zip" must be 'unzipped' before use.
Back-end software Version 3 for all versions of MS Access. Do not open this file directly with MS Access!
