| Project purpose |
for the delivery of state heritage focused strategic heritage products and services with measurable impacts and heritage outcomes. |

| For example |
You are a heritage agency with state-wide heritage responsibilities, you apply for a grant for the delivery of your heritage services /or heritage product that delivers on your agency's business plan and strategic heritage outcomes.
You are an individual or small business with an idea for a heritage product that is innovative and will have state-wide heritage benefits and impacts. Your project aligns with the Heritage Branch Strategic Plan 2005-2010 goals and outcomes as well as your business strategy. You apply for a 2 year interest free loan as investment in the development of your heritage product that you intend to market to heritage managers across the state.

Grants generally up to $60,000 per project
2 year interest free loans up to $60,000 for commercial projects

The development and delivery of
- Sustainable heritage products and services
- State or local government non-core & non-statutory heritage products and services
- Projects that build ongoing partnerships but not ongoing funding dependency with the Heritage Branch
- Commercial heritage products and services
- Leadership heritage projects
- Innovative and cutting edge heritage products and services
- Heritage advocacy and outreach services that build community capacity leading to best practice heritage management

| Eligible Projects |
Development of a best practice strategic heritage projects that provide
- State-wide delivery of a heritage product or service, or
- Heritage products and services targeted to benefit state heritage significant places, and
- Deliver on Heritage Branch Strategic Plan 2005-2010 or Heritage Council Annual Report 2007 goals and objectives and your agency strategic plan and/or business plan, and
- Have specific and measurable heritage outcomes, and
- For project seed funding, will become self-funding over time. Funding may be tapered to reduce % of costs met by the program funding in later years
You can apply for funding concurrently through this program and other NSW Heritage Grants 2009-2011 programs. If you apply for funding through more than one program, the total available funding will be $75,000

- CDs, DVDs or similar, or publications
- University degree projects
- Projects focused on local heritage products and services

| Processing your application |
The Heritage Branch will acknowledge receipt of your application during January 2009
In assessing your application, the quality and clarity of information provided will be taken into account
Your application will be assessed and you will be advised of the outcome following approval in March 2009
We will advise unsuccessful applicants after March 2009
A funding offer and contract will be sent to successful applicants after March 2009. On your acceptance of this offer, funding will commence on 1 July 2009
All projects must be completed and all funding claimed by 30 May 2011
NSW Heritage Grants 2009-2011 is a targeted funding program. Projects must meet eligibility criteria, program priorities and common selection criteria. However in exception circumstances, the Heritage Branch, Department of Planning reserves the right to recommend funding for projects that may not fully meet the program selection criteria
