Ethel Turner’s ‘Woodlands’ Heritage advice cash-back
 
Project purpose for professional specialist heritage advice prepared as part of a heritage Development Application for State Heritage Register items and items of state heritage significance
 
For example You are an owner of a State Heritage Register listed residence and have prepared a Development Application for local government approval for the construction of a new garage

The proposed garage complements the design, materials of the residence and location in relation to the residence. You engaged a heritage architect to design and document the garage and prepare a heritage impact statement for the Development Application

On approval of your Development Application, you may apply for the $1000 heritage advice cash-back

 
Funding Cash-back grants of $1000 for specialist heritage advice (architectural, landscape, engineering, archaeological, etc) and heritage impact statements prepared as part of special heritage Development Application conditions, for projects valued at $1000 and upwards
 
Application closing dates Applications can be made at any time throughout the year
 
Who can apply All owners and managers of State Heritage Register and significant heritage items

However, you CANNOT apply for funding if you are a state government agency (but you may be involved as a project partner)

 
Recently funded projects Ethel Turner's 'Woodlands'
 
Eligible Projects Items listed on the State Heritage Register, or State significant items that are either
  • Listed as a state heritage item in your Local Environmental Plan, or
  • Supported by your local council's heritage advisor or other heritage specialist as being of state heritage significance

You have completed your project and gained Development Application approval and are now ready to claim your heritage advice cash-back funding for one of the following approvals

  • Heritage Act S60 approval (for State Heritage Register items), or
  • Integrated Development Application approval (for State Heritage Items), or
  • Development Application approval (for state heritage items)

Your project was completed within the last 12 months

You can apply for funding concurrently through this program and other NSW Heritage Grants 2008-2010 programs. If you apply for funding through more than one program, the total available funding for your heritage item will be $75,000

 
Ineligible Projects Commercial heritage project Development Applications within the greater Sydney metropolitan area (bounded by Wollongong, Newcastle and the Blue Mountains)

Projects for locally significant heritage items listed on your Local Environment Plan

Funding will only be paid on completed heritage advice cash-back projects

To claim your funding you must provide ALL of the following

  • A copy of the heritage advice or report, and
  • A copy of the consultants invoice/s, and
  • Development Application Approval from your council and/or Heritage Branch

When you have completed your project application and attached images and/or other information

Processing your application The Heritage Branch will acknowledge receipt of your application within 21 days

In assessing your application, the quality and clarity of information provided will be taken into account

Funding will only be paid on completed projects

All projects must be completed and all funding claimed by 30 May 2009

NSW Heritage Grants 2008-2009 is a targeted funding program. Projects must meet eligibility criteria, program priorities and common selection criteria. However in exception circumstances, the Heritage Branch, Department of Planning reserves the right to recommend funding for projects that may not fully meet the program selection criteria
